Challenge

PURPOSE MISALIGNMENT

Educational institutions struggle with fragmented communication, complex data management, and inefficient administrative workflows. Existing platforms are often difficult to use, especially for non-technical users. Scalability and customization limitations further complicate operations as schools grow.

Solution

B2B/B2C LEARNING HUB

Edufar offers a user-friendly, role-based system with intuitive dashboards for administrators, teachers, parents, and students. The platform centralizes communication, automates administrative tasks, and provides modular features to adapt as institutions expand. Its design ensures accessibility and efficiency, enhancing engagement and performance tracking.

CHAPTER 1

THINK

Target Audience

SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR Principals, administrative staff, and finance officers responsible for managing daily operations, financial records, and school-wide communication.

TEACHERS Educators who need an efficient platform for managing class schedules, tracking attendance, grading, and communicating with students and parents.

PARENTS & STUDENTS Parents looking to stay updated on their child's academic progress, communicate with teachers, and receive school updates. Students need a simple interface to access homework, grades, and schedules.

User Interviews

Dr. Rebecca Morgan Educational Coordinator

What are your biggest challenges in managing daily school operations?

"My biggest challenge is juggling multiple tasks, from managing attendance to coordinating communication between teachers, students, and parents. It’s difficult to keep track of everything, especially during busy periods like exams or events."

How do you currently manage communication within the school?

"We primarily use email and WhatsApp groups for communication, but it’s not ideal. It often leads to miscommunication, and there’s no central location to track who received what update."

What features would make a School Management System valuable for you?

"A centralized dashboard that gives me a quick overview of attendance, staff schedules, and student performance would be fantastic. I’d also like automated reporting and a notification system for important announcements."

What are your pain points with the current system?

"It’s very fragmented. I have to use separate tools for finance, attendance, and communication. It’s time-consuming and inefficient, and I’d love to have a single platform that integrates all of these functions."

User Journey Map

User Flow Diagram

A user flow diagram for Edufar visualizes how different user types (Admin, Teacher, Parent, and Student) navigate through the platform. The journey starts with logging into the system and accessing a personalized dashboard that offers key features such as Attendance Management, Grade Tracking, and Communication Tools. Each user type follows specific paths based on their roles—for example, admins can access Financial Management and Settings, while teachers focus on Assignment and Grade Management. The flow connects each section through arrows, showing how users interact with the platform’s features to achieve their goals efficiently.

Wireframes

Hand-sketched wireframes are simple, preliminary drawings that outline the structure and key components of each screen in the Edufar platform. They include essential elements like navigation bars, buttons, input fields, and content areas, focusing on functionality rather than detailed design. These wireframes help visualize the flow for screens such as Login, Dashboard, Attendance Management, and Communication, ensuring all necessary features are logically placed. By using rough sketches, they provide a quick and effective way to iterate on layout ideas before moving to high-fidelity prototypes.
